SUMMARY:SPH+2 | "Golden Hour" Album Release
DESCRIPTION:Join the award winning composer and saxophonist\, Stephen Philip Harvey and his trio SPH+2 as they celebrate their second album release\, Golden Hour. The trio will play a mixture of original compositions composed during their residency at the Golden Hour Rum Room in Saint Michaels\, MD and music from their Library Card and Residence suites. \nGolden Hour marks Harvey’s ninth overall release\, coming out August 21\, 2026. This album follows Harvey’s recent large ensemble release\, Multiversal: Live at Bop Stop\, marking another foray into the bandleader’s exploration of music. \nHarvey works as a bandleader whose genre-blurring music fuses jazz with cinematic storytelling and contemporary Black American music. He leads multiple ensembles including his jazz orchestra (SPHJO)\, octet (SPH8)\, electronic quintet (Sphinx) and cordless trio (SPH+2). His releases have been performed internationally and featured in magazines such as DownBeat Magazine and Jazz’n’mor. \nDoors at 7\nShow at 8 \nTickets\n$15 Advance\n$20 Day Of\n \n Get Tickets

SUMMARY:Reverend Horton Heat & Messer Chups
DESCRIPTION:Reverend Horton Heat and Messer Chups return to Westside Bowl on Monday\, August 31. \nLoaded guns\, space heaters\, and big skies. Welcome to the wild landscape of Jim Heath’s imagination. Reverend Horton Heat has spent decades tearing through the roots of country\, rockabilly\, surf\, and punk with a style that feels equal parts Texas roadhouse and sci-fi fever dream. Live\, the band is pure velocity: scorching guitar work\, thunderous upright bass\, and the kind of sweat-soaked rock & roll energy that turns a room into a dance floor in minutes. \nSeeing Reverend Horton Heat live feels less like a concert and more like stepping into some warped 1950s exploitation film that somehow collided with the future. Jim Heath channels old-school rock & roll swagger through psychobilly chaos\, while the band barrels through the set with relentless intensity. It’s loud\, frantic\, weird\, and completely unapologetic in all the right ways. \nMesser Chups bring their own cult universe to the night. The band blends surf rock\, horror punk\, lounge\, vintage film samples\, and garage rock into something that sounds like a haunted beach party soundtracked by forgotten monster movies. Backed by visuals packed with mid-century horror and B-movie clips\, Messer Chups deliver a theatrical set driven by twang-heavy guitar lines\, driving rhythms\, theremin-soaked atmosphere\, and a gleeful obsession with the strange and cinematic. \nShow Information\nDoors: 6 PMMusic: 7 PMTickets: $10 \n \n Get Your Tickets Now
