It’s been a long, strange trip to becoming Toronto-based jam band Danceland. Rooted in a timeless psychedelic Americana tradition, this five-piece blends playful and serious themes into a sound that’s both fresh and nostalgic. Their 2022 debut Pink Lem charmed listeners with its neo-hippie warmth, and their 2024 follow-up Licky takes things even further—refined, dynamic, and full of swirling grooves. Now they’re bringing their summer run down to Ohio and are stoked to return to Westside Bowl!

They’ll be joined by local genre-bending favorites The Velvet Gentlemen. Based in Youngstown, this alternative rock outfit defies easy classification with their “genre-bending abominations.” Their self-titled 2024 debut set the stage for a bold sound, with a second album already in the works for 2025.

Rounding out the bill is Philadelphia’s cultist psychedelic family gospel freak-out St James & The Apostles. Formed in 2010, the band channels raw, fuzzed-out spirituality into a deep, organ-heavy psych-blues swirl. Their latest record, Black Psalms (2019), explores suffering and redemption in full technicolor, with an expanded five-piece lineup pushing their sound to new ecstatic heights.
