First Wednesday Reader Series presents poets Daniel Bourne of Wooster & Marlo Starr of Columbus. Phil Brady will co-host. Open mic to follow. Wednesday, December 4, at 7:00pm at the Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave. This reading will be downstairs in the Trophy Room, accessible only by stairs.
Daniel Bourne’s books include The Household Gods, Where No One Spoke the Language, and Talking Back to the Exterminator. A contributor to Ploughshares, APR, Guernica, Salmagundi, Prairie Schooner, and Yale Review, Bourne also recently published a collection of translations of Polish poet Bronisław Maj, The Extinction of the Holy City.
Marlo Starr is a writer and assistant professor of English and creative writing at the College of Wooster. Her poems have appeared in The Threepenny Review, Ghost City Review, Napkin Poetry Review, and elsewhere, and she is the recipient of a 2024 Individual Excellence Award in Poetry from the Ohio Arts Council.
