About Hugh Pool
Hugh Pool is a musician, producer, and audio engineer rooted in American traditions—rolling slide-guitar boogies, bluesy vocals, harmonica flourishes, and reflective folk-rock. Originally from Western Pennsylvania, his sound draws on classic rock, blues, and folk influences while staying inventive and alive on stage.
Pareles of The New York Times praised his work as evoking “1960s rock that is steeped in the blues,” spanning everything from tumble-and-roll slide workouts to neo-psychedelic jams to down-home hymns reminiscent of The Band. Beyond his solo performances, Hugh also tours with his acclaimed duo Mulebone alongside multi-instrumentalist John Ragusa.

When he’s not on the road, Hugh engineers and produces at Excello Recording in Brooklyn—capturing performances with an analog depth and live feel that artists and critics alike admire.
